Brafield On The Green – St Lawrence

St Lawrence church Brafield on the Green Porch

A late C12 early C13 church with a Norman west tower and a perpendicular bell stage.

Exterior with Norman Saddleback roof

This C13 church dedicated to saints Peter and Paul retains the Norman saddleback roof on the west tower with Y tracery in the tower openings.

Pattishall – Holy Cross.

Holy Cross - Pattishall Porch Pattishall

Originally Anglo-Saxon in date it was rebuilt by the Norman’s and is mostly C13, though the tower was rebuilt in 1663,

Church interior East window Stained glass 'Suffer little children'

The chancel is C13 though the arch is most probably dated to around 1150. The nave of 3 bays is C13 but retains some of the earlier Anglo-Saxon features. The East window tracery is in the decorated style which dates to the later half on C13.

Pulpit hancel roof Font

The pulpit, roof of the chancel, and font are all Victorian.
