Idaea
Submitted by walwyn
Idaea is a genus of moths in the Geometridae family. These are small to medium-sized moths, typically with a wingspan of 15–30 mm. The wings are usually delicate, slender, and triangular in shape, and are held flat when at rest. Many species show wavy or dotted cross-lines across the wings, and some have reddish, yellowish, or brownish tints, often with a dusting of fine dots. They are mostly pale (whitish, cream, yellow, or light brown) with fine patterns, giving them a subtle, “powdery” appearance.
