Gozzoli, Benozzo
Active: c. 1440–1497
Benozzo Gozzoli was a Florentine Renaissance painter trained in the workshop of Fra Angelico ⓘ. Early in his career he assisted in the execution of the fresco programme at the Dominican convent of San Marco in Florence, where one cell fresco is now attributed to him. He later established an independent practice, becoming known for richly detailed narrative cycles and lively figural compositions.
