Boletobiinae is a subfamily of Erebidae moths. This subfamily is a relatively diverse but less well-known group of noctuoid moths, with many species still being revised and studied. They are small to medium-sized moths. Generally cryptic in colouration, in browns, grays, or earth tones, and are often mottled or streaked for camouflage against bark or leaf litter. Some species, however, show striking patterns or contrasting markings. The forewings are typically narrow and elongated, hindwings broader and sometimes paler. Many rest flat against surfaces with wings outspread, aiding in camouflage.
