Holland of Warwick, located on [no-glossary]St John's[/no-glossary] road Warwick were stained glass makers during the second half of the 19th century. In the 1850s they were one of the main manufacturers in the depressed town.

Arthur Tudor Tomb and Chantry Chapel - Worcester cathedral

This chantry chapel to Arthur Tudor, covered in tracery and sculptures, was built in 1504. The chest tomb of the 15 year old Prince fills the chapel.

 

 

 

Bishop Richard Mayew - Hereford Cathedral.

This tomb in the South choir contains the effigy of Bishop Richard Mayew (d1516) under an elaborate canopy, and with weepers around the base. The weepers are thought to represent saints and were damaged during the reformation.

 

 

Denton family tomb - Hereford Cathedral

This alabaster monument to Alexander Denton and his wife Anne (nee Willison), dates from about 1566. Anne his wife and the child by her side are the only ones that are buried here.

 

Lord John Cheney Monument - Salisbury Cathedral

Lord John Cheney (d1499) was a Lancastrian supporter who in 1483 had supported the Duke of Buckingham's rebellion against Richard III. When Buckingham's rebellion failed he joined Henry Tudor in Brittany and returned with him from France in 1485.

Chancel Windows - Tewkesbury Abbey

The stained glass windows in the chancel of Tewkesbury Abbey are all from between 1338 and 1340. They were most probably a gift to the Abbey by Eleanor Despenser (nee de Clare) the wife of Hugh Despenser the Younger. Eleanor is thought to be the person depicted in the panel here.

South Ambulatory Chapel - Gloucester Cathedral

Installed in October 1992, these three windows, reflecting on Psalm 148 and John 20:24-29, are located in the South Ambulatory Chapel of Gloucester Cathedral, and are by Tom Denny.
