Ophioninae

The Ophioninae are a subfamily of Ichneumonidae wasps comprising of 32 genera, and are mainly parasites of Lepidoptera larvae. Mostly orange in colour with a curved abdomen and large ocelli.

Courageux, Claude

Born in August 8, 1938 in Beuavais, Claude Courageux was educated at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He spent a number of years working with other glass makers in Paris,  including working with Max Ingrand, and seven years working at the firm of Jacques Gruber.

Melyridae are a family of soft-winged flower beetles, there are about 20 species in the UK, and 1,600 species world wide. The larvae are predatory mostly living in rotting wood or under bark, the adults mostly feed on pollen and nectar, though some may feed on other insects visiting flowers.

This monument placed by the officers and men of the royal Welch Fusiliers is by John Bacon Jr. It depicts Col Sir Henry Walton Ellis falling from his horse, with Victory crowning him with a Laurel wreath.

Sir Richard Pembridge (d1375) was one of the earliest Knights of the Garter, being elected following the death of Thomas Ufford in 1368. He was present at all of Edward III's major victories during the Hundred Years War: Sluys (1340), Creçy (1346), the Siege of Calais (1347), and Poiters (1356) where he fought alongside the Black Prince.
