This memorial to Sir Thomas Street (d1696) is the work of the sculptor Joseph Wilton a founding member of the Royal Academy, and was made around 1774. The monument consists of an urn with his coat of arms, on the left is an open book with the inscription "Articuli Magnse Chartae Libertatem:" and on the right the scales and sword of justice.
Thomas Street was a lawyer and judge. He was a Justice of the Common Pleas from 1684-1689, but was not reappointed when William and Mary came to the throne.
