Thomas Lucy and wife Joyce - Charlecote, Warwickshire

Alabster tomb originally built for Joyce (d1595) wife of Thomas Lucy. It was later enlarged to include his effigy after he died in 1600. Their two children, Thomas and Anne, are shown on the front panel.

Thomas Lucy was caricatured as 'Justice Shallow' by William Shakespeare in "The Merry Wives of Windsor".
