Angels - Great Creaton, Northamptonship

This two-light window, dated 1911, presents a celestial choir of angels and takes its text from the Te Deum:
“To thee all Angels cry aloud.”
Main Lights
Both lancets are filled with richly coloured angels arranged in tiers, some kneeling, others standing, their gestures directed upward and inward. A scroll bearing the text of the Te Deum flows across the composition.
The angels are shown in animated but ordered movement, creating a rhythmic pattern of wings, robes, and inclined heads. Their expressions are devotional rather than dramatic.
The deep red background intensifies the luminosity of the figures and creates a glowing heavenly atmosphere.
Tracery
In the tracery above appears the Agnus Dei — the Lamb bearing the banner of victory — set against golden rays. This reinforces the liturgical and triumphal theme of the window.
