This sculpture of a cherub with its hand upon an hour-glass to symbolize the brevity of life, and its elbow resting on a skull symbolizing death, is part of the mausoleum of canon Guilain Lucas (d1628).1 It is the work of Nicolas Blasset, and widely known as the Weeping Angel of Amiens which was a popular postcard sent by soldiers on the Somme during WWI.2
