Celypha
Primary tabs

Celypha is a genus of moths in the Tortricidae family. Celypha are found in in woodland, grassland, heath, and gardens, and are typically small moths with a wingspan ranging from about 10–20 mm. Their forewings are often mottled or marbled with gray, brown, white, and sometimes greenish tones, giving them a cryptic, bark-like appearance. This helps them camouflage on tree trunks or foliage, whilst their hindwings are usually paler, often gray or brown, and less patterned. At rest they hold their wings flat and slightly roof-like over the body, giving them a somewhat squarish outline. The caterpillars are generally leaf-rollers, case-bearers, or borers. They may feed on various herbaceous plants, shrubs, or trees, depending on the species, and some are associated with grasses, while others feed on plants like mint, thistles, and other composites.
