Udea is a genus of moths of the Crambidae family. These are small to medium-sized moths, typically with wingspans ranging from 15–30 mm. The forewings often narrow with varied patterns—usually in shades of brown, grey, or yellow; hindwings are paler. Many Udea species have diagnostic spots or crosslines that aid in identification. At rest the wings are held flat or slightly roof-like over the body. The larvae are usually leaf-feeders or stem-borers. Host plants are diverse, including herbaceous plants, shrubs, and sometimes crops.
