This early 13th century window depicts the story of Noah, was donated to the Cathedral of Chartres by the town's carpenters, wheelwrights, and coopers.

This Madonna and child was commissioned in 1508 as a black wooden copy of the 13th century silver Madonna that stood on the main altar at Chartres Cathedral.

Lobin studios operated from 35 rue des Ursulines in Tour at between 1853 and 1892. The family business was started by Julien Léopold Lobin(1814-1864), and run by his son Lucien Léopold Lobin (1837-1892) after 1864. The company also worked with other glass makers including a long relationship with Jean-Prosper Florence.

Part of a lost sequence known as the 'History of the Resurrection' this image of doubting Thomas is probably mid 14th century. It was discovered in 1846, in the north transept of Saint Albans Cathedral beneath whitewash.

 

 

Reliquary of St Taurin - Evreux

Made between 1240-1255 by a Paris goldsmith, to hold the relics of St Taurin, this shrine was commissioned by the abbot Gislebert de Saint-Martin. The reliquary weighs 82kg and is made of bronze silver and gold leaf over a wooden chest.
