Isabella of France Queen of England dies 1358

On the 22nd of August 1358 Isabella of France, Queen of England died at Castle Rising in Norfolk, where she had spent the last 18 years of her life. She was buried at the Greyfriars monastry at Newgate London, having taken the habit of the Poor Clares shortly before her death. She was buried in her wedding dress, and alongside her was the casket into which thirty years previously the heart of Edward II had been placed.
