Because God has decided that the world is corrupt he decideds to drown all the people except for Noah and his family. Noah is told to build an ark in order to save his family and all the animals from the coming flood. This early 13th century stained glass is part of a larger work at Chartres Cathedral.

This medieval stained glass panel depicting Noah being told by God to build an Ark is the chapel of St Anne at Malvern Priory. Created between 1440 and 1450 this panel is in one of three windows donated by Isabel Despenser and Richard de Beauchamp, 13th earl of Warwick.

This 1868 stained glass panel illustrating Noah and his family leaving the Ark is by the William Wailes. It is part of the West Window at Gloucester Cathedral. It was a major commission for the Newcastle firm and is probably their biggest undertaking.
