These three stained glass panels, by the Lobin Studio, on the subject of St Helen, are in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Orleans, France.
St Helen was the mother of the Emperor Constantine, and is reputed to have spent some time in Palestine looking for relics of early Christians, during which time she is supposed to have discovered relics of the True Cross, which she brought back to Rome in 327. The other figure in the above panel is St Macarius, the Bishop of Jerusalem, who helped St Helen discover the True Cross.
St Evortius (St Euverte d'Orléans) was the 4th century bishop of Orleans responsible for building the first cathedral there. In the above panel he is discussing the plans with St Helen.
St Evortius named his new church the Holy Cross in recognition of St Helen's discovery in Jerusalem.
