This finely carved coffin lid features a long-stemmed cross whose arms terminate in deeply incised, curling foliage, a design symbolising both the Cross of Christ and the Tree of Life. The leafy ornament, known as a foliated cross, became popular in the 13th century and is often associated with clerical burials or those of prominent parishioners.
This fragmentary but evocative window from Holy Cross Church, Pattishall, preserves elements of a 14th-century English stained glass narrative cycle. The surviving lights depict a kneeling orant figure with hands raised in prayer, and beside it, a group showing Christ with a disciple or saint, set beneath delicately painted Gothic architectural canopies.
The two windows in the north wall of the chancel in the Saxon church of All Saints, Brixworth are by Burlison & Grylls ⓘ, dated 1913 and 1915, they are from the first quarter of the 20th century.
The life size figure, by William Behnes ⓘ, is that of Charlotte's son. Charlotte Botfield died in 1825.
