This sculpture is the work of Jehan Soulas dated from 1519-1521.1 Made from the Tonnerre quarry hard limestone it is part of the choir screen at Chartres cathedral and depicts the Presentation to the Temple of the young Mary. In the foreground St Joachim and St Anne are in conversation as Mary climbs the 15 steps to the Temple's altar.
