Nicolaus Copernicus dies 1543

The mathematician, and astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus died, aged 70, on the 19th of February 1543, at Frauenburg Poland. His work De revolutionibus orbium coelestium (On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres), published just before his death is considered to be the birth of modern Astronomy.
