Seraphim Theme Pages

A class of celestial beings in Judaism and Christianity. The name is derived from the Hebrew verb saraph ("to consume with fire").

This stained glass window, created in 1918 by Arild Rosenkrantz, depicts the Archangel Raphael guiding the young Tobias, a scene drawn from the Book of Tobit. The artist’s style combines late Pre-Raphaelite influence with early 20th-century symbolism, using rich color and flowing line to convey both tenderness and divine protection.
