St Peter and St Simeon — Lichfield Cathedral
1480 to 1520

These two figures, St Peter on the left and St Simeon holding the Christ Child on the right, are genuine late medieval survivals from a larger pre-Reformation glazing scheme. Their faces, haloes, and upper drapery retain the characteristic modelling of c.1480–1520 English glass.
The surrounding canopies, borders, pedestals, and much of the lower drapery were reconstructed during the 19th-century restoration of the cathedral, creating the present composite window. Despite its fragmentary state, the panel preserves important examples of Lichfield’s medieval stained-glass tradition.
