Shortly after his marriage to Catherine of Aragon, Prince Arthur Tudor, the eldest son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York, died after a short illness at Ludlow Castle on 2nd of April 1502. Catherine later married Arthur's brother Henry, and their failure to have a male heir precipitated the English Reformation.
