Following the death of Henry VIII, the nine year old Edward VI is crowned king of England on the 20th of Febuary 1547.

Henry died on the 28th of January and Edward was fetched from Hertford to Enfield where he and his sister Elizabeth were told of their father's death. He was then taken to the Tower of London, and the news of Henry's death was announced to Parliament on the 31st of January.

Henry's burial took place on the 16th of February, where he was interred in the same tomb as that of Jane Seymour.
