Limnephilidae

The Limnephilidae (Northern caddisflies) are a family of Trichoptera consiting of 100 genra that are mostly distributed in the Northern Hemisphere. Often of a mottled brown colour the aquatic larvae encase themselves in plant material, sand, bark, and snail shells.
