This finely detailed mosaic illustrates the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes, one of the key episodes in the Gospel narrative (Matthew 14:13–21; Mark 6:30–44; Luke 9:10–17; John 6:1–14). It forms part of the extensive decorative cycle covering the nave and aisles of Monreale Cathedral, executed between c. 1180 and 1218 under Norman patronage.

This depiction of the "Feeding the 5000" was installed in 1888 in Tewkesbury Abbey by John Hardman and Company. The boy presents the loaves and fishes whilst St Andrew points to him, and St Philip stands on the right.
This vibrant three-light window, signed and dated “Julien Fournier, Tours, 1890”, represents Christ preaching the Sermon on the Mount before a gathered crowd beneath tall palm trees. The scene exemplifies the confident narrative style and technical refinement of the Fournier Studios during the later nineteenth century, when their workshop in Tours was among the most prolific in central France.
