This column capital dating from the early 12th century depicts the announcement to Zecharia that his wife Saint Elizabeth is pregnant. This capital can be found in the apse of he Basilica of Notre-Dame du Port in Clermont Ferrand.

This late 15th century fresco (c1485-1490) in the church of Santa Maria Novella, Florence is by Domenico Ghirlandaio, depicting the moment that Zechariah wrote the name John as the name of his son.
