The three people on the left of this scene begging forgiveness are Lois II of Chalon, count of Saint Aignan, his mother, and his second wife Jeanne de Perellos. Lois had repudiated his first wife and eloped with Jeanne from the court of the Duchess of Burgundy. The text reads:

Very gentle lady of pity
Please grant us this gift
Through your kindness we beg you
That their sin should be forgiven.

to the right of the scene are St. Anne and the Vigin Mary suckling Jesus.
