St Peter and St John - San Marco, Florence

This fresco at San Marco in Florence is the work of one of Fra Angelico's assistants Benozzo Gozzoli. The ground colour is lapis lazuli an expensive pigment that was not used in any of the other frescos due to the Rule of Poverty.
