Having fled into the the mountains with the shepherds and the sheep, Joachim is told by the angel Gabriel that he and Anne will have a daughter. This is one of the scenes based the Protevangelium that were sculpted by Jehan Soulas, between 1519-1521, for the Choir Screen at Chartres Cathedral
