Eleanor of Aquitaine dies 1204

1 April 1204

On the 1st of April, 1204, Eleanor of Aquitaine , Duchess of Aquitaine and former queen of France and England, died in 1204 at the Abbey of Fontevraud, where she had retired in her later years. Her death marked the end of one of the most influential lives of the medieval period.1
