Following the death of Pope Innocent III, Cencio Savelli is elected Pope Honorius III on 18th of July 1216.
His papacy sees the start of the Fifth Crusade and the continuation of the Albigensian Crusade. He gave approval to the Dominican order in 1216, and to the Franciscan in 1223.
