Coronation of Edward III of England 1327

On the 1st of February 1327, Edward III was crowned King of England, by Archbishop Reynolds in Westminster Abbey.1 The coronation followed the abdication of his father, Edward II, on the 25th of January.2 Because he was 14 years old the de facto ruler became Roger Mortimer, Queen Isabella's consort.3 In 1330 Edward overthrew Mortimer and began to reign in his own right.4
