Coronation of Charles VII of France 1429

Although Charles had been king of France since 1422 he was opposed by Henry VI of England, who's Regent John of Lancaster the Duke of Bedford had defeated the French on a number of occasions and with the Burgundians ruled most of France.

Following Joan of Arc's lifting of the siege of Orleans and the French victory at the Battle of Patay, Charles was crowned Charles VII of France at Rheims cathedral on the 17th of July 1429.1
