The left hand doorway of Chartres Cathedral is decorated with an Ascension scene where Chist is accompanied by angels. The sculpture dates from the middle of the 12th century.

This panel from the East Window at Poitiers Cathedral is dated to around 1170. It shows christ ascended into heaven with an angel on either side of him. The window was donated by Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine.

This painting (c1340) of the Ascension is by Taddeo Gaddi. Originally in Santa Maria Novella it is now displayed in the Accademia Florence.

This sculpture is part of the choir screen at Chartres Cathedral. Dating from 1516 by an anonymous sculptor, it is a literal depiction of the event described in Acts 1:9-12.

Central part of the easy window from Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire. The bottom part has St John and the Virgin Mary, whilst above them respectively is the Archangel Michael, and the Archangel Gabriel.
