This sculpture of a beadless man holding a book, is thought to represent some unknown Abbot. The sculpture can be found on the South porch of Chartres Cathedral which was de3corated between 1194 and 1230.

Dated between 1327-1330, this is one of two Mitred abbots in the tracery of the east window at Saint Nicholas, Stanford-on-Avon.
