Gilbert de Clare (d1295) was the 7th Earl of Gloucester having succeeded to the Earldom in 1262. Gilbert and his brother Thomas first supported Simon de Montfort's rebellion against Henry III, but later changed sides. He was involved in the massacre of the Jews in Canterbury in April 1264, and fought at the battle of Lewes on the 14th May 1264. However, by the end of the year he changed sides and fought with Edward I at the Battle of Evesham where Simon de Montfort was killed.
