Emperor Theodosius the Great dies 395

On January the 17th 395 the Roman Emperor Theodosius died in Milan, and was buried in Constantinople on the 8th of November 395.

Theodosius became Emperor of the East in 379 and was the last  Emperor to rule over both the eastern and western halves of the empire in 392.

His reign saw the suppression of paganism and the establishment of the Nicean creed of Christianity as the state religion.
