Stained glass panel depicting Simeon by Burlison and Grylls (1892) in a south window of the Lady Chapel Worcester Cathedral.

This is a representative example of Victorian Gothic Revival craftsmanship. Holding an open book, which symbolizes scripture, wisdom, and prophecy, he gazes thoughtfully at its contents, reinforcing his scholarly or inspired role.  His robes are richly colored in deep red, green, and gold, adorned with floral patterns, referencing divine beauty and heavenly order, whilst his cloak is edged with decorative trim and has a dynamic drape, reflecting the influence of medieval and Gothic artistic traditions that the Gothic Revival embraced.

The  biblical quotation “Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace,” from the Nunc Dimittis, identifies the figure as Simeon.
