Martyrdom of St. Theodore - Chartres Cathedral

One of the sculpture on the south porch of Chartres Cathedral (1194-1230). This sculpture depicts the martyrdom of St. Theodore, a roman soldier from the 4th century who is reputed to have burnt down a temple and had his flesh torn off, and then thrown into a furnace.
