Pharisee and Publican - Tewkesbury Abbey
Formerly in the entrance to Lady Chapel, this Hardman &Co. window of 1887 illustrates the story of the Pharisee giving alms to the poor, and the Publican displaying humility.
 
The inscription reads:
 

The publican would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast saying God be merciful to me a sinner.

In 1834 the London Wine merchant James Powell (1774-1840) bought the small Whitefriars glassworks just off Fleet Street as a business for his sons. Originally unfamiliar with glass production the company experiemented with different techniques and were soon supply patent glass to other leading stained glass companies and designer as well as making stained glass windows of their own.

Meeting a funeral procession at the gate of Nain, Jesus takes pity on the man's mother, herself a widow. Laying a hand on the bier, the dead man sits up and begins to talk.
 
The scrolls held by the angels read "Wisdom" and "Thanksgiving".

Main panel of this Hardman window illustrates Jesus delivering the Sermon on the Mount. The lower panel has New Testament scenes of teaching. These include Jesus teach a Samaritan women at the well, teaching a woman called Mary at Martha's house, the appointment at night with the Pharisee Nichodemus.

Born in St. Albans in 1909 Francis Skeat was a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the British Society of Master Glass Painters, and a member of the Art Workers Guild. He created over 400 stained glass windows for churches and cathedrals both in the UK and abroad.

The Transfiguration - Tewkesbury Abbey
 
The subject of this window by Hardman (1892) is Christ in Glory with the prophets Moses and Elijah to the left and right. Above Moses is the stoning of St. Stephen, and above Elijah is a vision of John's New Jerusalem. The inscription reads: "This Is My Beloved Son * In Whom I Am Well Pleased * Hear Ye Him"
 
The lower panels show representations of Peter, James, and John. The inscription above and below these figures is: "Lord It Is Good For Us To Be Here * If Thou Wilt Let Us Make Here * Three Tabernacles * On For Thee * One For Moses * And One for Elias"
