The cathedral of Chartres contains a number of Gothic sculptures. The west facade has a number of Romanesque sculptures but these were built just as Gothic architecture was replacing the Romanesque. Above the porches in the west facade, the typanums are entirely Gothic as are the pillars and decorations on the south side.
