Annunciation

These two windows depicting the "Annunciation" are dated 1885 and 1886 in Pontlevoy and Cheverny respectively.

In the later work whilst the image is reversed and the landscape behind the figures has changed but the images are almost exact even down to the highlights on the garments.

Christ in Majesty

Christ in Majesty, is a representation of Christ as ruler of the universe. Normally he is in a mandorla and surrounded by other figures and objects. The other figures depicted change from time to time.

In this Romanesque (C12) painting in the Byzantine style, Christ is flanked by St. Peter and St. James the minor, with cripples at his feet. Collegiate Church of St Aignan, Loir-et-Cher.

Fom about 1420, the figures on the right are thought to be Lois II of Chalon, count of Saint Aignan, his mother, and his second wife Jeanne de Perellos.
 
 

Pontlevoy - St. Pierre

St Bernard and St Elizabeth of Hungary.This church is mostly furnished with glass work from J. Fournier of Tour.
 
It includes two large story tableaux of the "Annunciation" and "Sermon on the Mount" dated 1885 and 1890 respectively. The apse behind the altar has some some collaborative work by Fournier and Clermont (1877) depicting saints.
 
The central window behind the altar has a depiction of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1879). With the exception of a modern work the rest of the windows are Fournier representations of saints from 1891, 1896 and 1897.
